Understanding the teleprompter window Intermediate
CueCam’s teleprompter window is designed to be used with a connected teleprompter device like an Elgato Prompter, or a Glide Gear teleprompter with a Liliput monitor or iPad running Duet.
Once set up correctly, a teleprompter will appear to your Mac as an extra display.
You can reveal CueCam’s teleprompter window with the toolbar button.
The teleprompter window has various functions.
- Your camera preview
- Your teleprompter
- Audio level of your virtual mic (using LUFS)
- Presentation navigation and recording controls.
- Source selector (more on this below)
Drag it to the teleprompter’s display to continue. For best results, make it full-screen.
Changing the position
You can drag the teleprompter to a different position if you need to.
Changing the width and font size
Hovering over the teleprompter text gives you more controls.
Below we see:
- Font size - click the big and small A buttons to change the text size.
- Max width - drag this bar left and right to change the maximum display width.
The teleprompter area will always take the minimum possible size based on the currently-displayed text.
Audio monitoring
Your audio meter should be in the green for a good -23 LUFS signal.
If you get too loud, you’ll see a warning in your teleprompter.
Alternative sources
If you want to use this window for your remote video calls, you can select your Zoom, Teams or Meet window from the selector at the top.
Alternatively you can use the “Transparent Window” option. The teleprompter window always stays on top of other windows so this way you can drag any other windows you need onto your teleprompter and keep the CueCan’s HUD on top of everything else. Here it is dragged on top of Ecamm Live’s Program window.
